![]() So trying to find reasonably priced Business Routers like the RV340 that can do IPSec VPN's but not sure which way to go. The ASA 5505 was a leftover when their network was part of a larger group that they split from. I put in a spare RV320 which is meeting their needs. I also just picked up a client that had an ASA 5505 that was damaged by lightning. So it has not been perfect but I know some people HATE them with a passion but I got by.īut I did learne that Cisco does not do much to keep everything current in their RV series and am hesitant to go with the RV340s. You have to use older OpenVPN Clients to get it to work. Then I went to use the OpenVPN VPN but they never updated it to the newer encryption. Somethings changed and I was going to use their SSL VPN which they dropped from later firmware updates. The only thing is that late in the game(had them in place for a while). when in secondary office no one is in main office and they are just using VPN to Remote Desktop to their software. ![]() The group rotates offices so they use one office at a time. ![]() One Client Main Office with an RV320 has 2 secondary offices with RV320s in them connecting with IPSEC VPNs while I have 2 other IPSEC VPNs connecting to main office's RV320 from partners pushing data to the companies Database. The thing is that I liked the RV320, many people have had problems with them but mine have been good to me as in they have been reliable but not great in feature sets and Cisco keeping up on making sure they have good updates. Most of them still have the RV320 as top or #1 on the list and it has reached EOL for Software updates and have been replaced by the RV340. Hard to do your google homework when everything are "Best Business routers of 2019" and the routers they are recommending it is all affiliate crap. I am just having a hard time finding Routers in the Small to Medium business class where I can get a feel for them without buying a collection of them. I need to replace an ASA 5505 and several Cisco RV320s.
